Choosing the Right Teacher
  • Select a few teachers suited to fit your preferences (area of study, teaching style, geographic location) and call them directly. Explain your goals and, if applicable, tell them about past experiences. It is important that your personalities match and that the teacher understands your goals.
  • Interview the teacher. Look for a positive person that has chosen teaching as a career. Make sure your teacher has a proven track record of successful teaching at the level of play of your child. It is important to choose the right teacher, especially for a beginner, because the beginning teacher can ”make or break” a young musician. Schedule a trial lesson if you're unsure.
